Research Pharmacy of the Year Award presented at the Finnish Pharmacy Days

The Pharmacy Days were organised at the Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre on the 18th and 19th of November. This year, the largest annual educational event for the pharmaceutical field celebrated its 40th anniversary. Oriola and Farenta participated in the event with their own stands and with a common address to the visitors.
The joint Oriola and Farenta address first presented the Research Pharmacy of the Year Award. Executice Vice President Kimmo Virtanen from Oriola and CEO Mikko Veräjänkorva from Farenta took the floor.
Farenta has conducted important research in co-operation with pharmacies for almost four years already. Surveys realised at the pharmacies provide real-world data from the users of medicines on, for example, the dosing of the medicine in question, the quality of life of the customer and their health behaviour. The research data is used to promote the realisation of the good treatment of patients. At present, research is being carried out in already more than 186 pharmacies in Finland and in approximately 204 pharmacies in Poland.
- This year, Porin Karhu Pharmacy was awarded the title of Research Pharmacy of the Year. In their selection, Farenta has emphasised the attitude and active willingness of the pharmacy to develop the role of the Finnish pharmacies as part of Finnish healthcare. As chosen by the personnel, the Porin Karhu Pharmacy will celebrate the award on a cruise, says Veräjänkorva.
After presenting the Research Pharmacy of the Year Award, Veräjänkorva and Virtanen described the intensifying co-operation between Oriola and Farenta. The personnel and customers of the companies have welcomed the news.
- The personnel at Farenta are particularly happy that the co-operation will present new, even international career opportunities, says Veräjänkorva.

Our customers are happy since now our service selection covers the entire chain, from clinical drug trials up to the pharmacy and the consumer. And now, all of these services are available from a single source, says Virtanen.
