Nam Nguyen - Sofware Engineer, Digital Team
What do you do at Oriola?
I work as a Software Engineer in the Digital team at Oriola Finland.
The Digital team is responsible for maintaining and further developing Oriola's customer-facing digital services in collaboration with various stakeholders.
These services support both upstream and downstream customers (pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, veterinarians as well as retail customers) and span a wide range of functions.

Describe your role - what does it mean?
As a Software Engineer, I focus on ensuring that our digital services for customers in Finland are reliable and continuously improved. My role involves both hands-on development work and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
A typical day at work starts with checking emails and participating in our daily team meeting to align on goals and share updates. The rest of the day includes focused development work, problem-solving, and collaboration with colleagues. Of course, our workdays also include conversations, coffee breaks – and sometimes sweets!
The variety in my role keeps the work interesting and rewarding. I also value the opportunity to keep learning – not only when it comes to technology, but also in developing soft skills, essential for teamwork and communication.
What's your background - educational and professional?
I hold two bachelor’s degrees: one in Business Administration and one in Engineering, specialising in IT – both from Finland.
Prior to Oriola, I gained experience at both a start-up and a scaling company, which gave me valuable insight into how closely technology and business are connected at different stages of growth.
I’ve been at Oriola for just over two years, working at our Mankkaa office. I joined Oriola to deepen my technical skills while learning more about the healthcare sector. I was also drawn to the company's meaningful role in society – helping ensure access to health and wellbeing through our daily work.
And finally, when you are not working, what do you like to do?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially discovering new restaurants – I even keep a personal list of favourites, which I’m always happy to share.
